Star San No Rinse Sanitiser - Phosphoric Keg and Growler Cleaner (or StellaSan)

This sanitiser is food grade, no-rinse, foaming and super easy to use.
You only need 1.5-2ml mixed with 1L of warm water and shaken to sanitise one of our 4L kegs in 2 mins.

A handy tip is to make it up in a dedicated spray bottle and spray on surfaces - you will see it foaming and visually see what is covered. Make up to dilution stated, not stronger.
Don't worry about foam in your keg, growler or brewing equipment it has no flavor or odor and is completely food safe and non-rinse. Don't fear the foam (c:
See this video on how you can do that to a whole chain of kegs and then push the liquid through with CO2 for the easiest and most perfectly sterilised kegs, beer lines, connections and taps possible.
With the kegs hooked up, sanitised and filled with CO2 like this you can then just gravity feed your homebrew from your fermenter into them in minutes.

You can also re-use the sanitiser repeatedly, making it even more cost effective. Just keep the used liquid till next time.

Unlike other sanitisers it is non-staining, non-corrosive on stainless and stable over a wide range of temperatures.

Star San comprises of a blend of phosphoric acid and dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid.
Star San is a self-foaming acid anionic detergent. It can be mixed up in a spray bottle and sprayed on to a surface. This will cause foam to be produced and will stick to the surface for easy to see coverage.
Cleaning with Star San on a daily basis will leave equipment in an acid condition that will eliminate water spotting, mineral build-up, and corrosion. It is not recommended to use Starsan on soft metals because of the acid nature of this product.

  • Hi There do you bring in the Star SAN Acid 5 or have a equivalent?

    Hi Sam -
Unfortunatly Acid #5 is not brought into NZ.  We have LCC which is a caustic line cleaner.  Let me know your application and I will see if we can suggest something else.
    Cheers.

  • suitable for cleaning bottles

    Hi Paul -
This is suitable for sanitising bottles. If you ware wanting to clean old residue off it would be recomended to use something like PBW to do the initial clean, then rinse then use starsan as a final no-rinse.
If thigns are already pre rinsed from last use and dont need a clean they you may get away with just using starsan.
    Cheers.
