Sodastream Adapter for Pro Mini Regulator (Also Fits Paintball Cylinder)

Select your desired size from the drop down box to the side.
Installation instructions & Usage at the bottom of this page here

The Standard soda stream adapter screws directly into the base of our mini co2 regulators. Just turn the reg off - screw in the sodasatream adapter and then add your soda stream or paintball bottle. Easy!

The male thread on these is 3/8-24UNF which is the same as our 16g threaded co2 canisters. Super easy to use.

The standard sodastream adapter adapter should fit any mini regulator or anything that uses 16g threaded co2 canisters or has a 3/8-24UNF inlet.

Replacement fat black o-rings for these are available here:

Old Style 5/8-18UNF - 74G Adapter:
We still have the older 5/8-18UNF male threaded (74g) version of our sodastream adapter if you have one of our regulators from an order pre 2018 which would have come with a 5/8 female thread converter.  These were handy if you were using 74g to 36g co2 canisters which have a 5/8 thread, or 18g nitrogen canisters if you can find them...
If you need the Bush fitting / 5/8 female thread converter to use the 74g adapter on our mini regs, let us know - we have them here for $5 a piece and they will fit on our mini regs.

Full Size Regulator Adapter:
We also have a full size regulator sodastream adapter as well that has a Type30 co2 bottle valve male thread to sodastream female thread.

Features 16G and 74G:
These custom made brass adapters allow you to use a Sodastream bottle or Paintball cylinder with our Pro Mini Regulators only.

**Note - Our Sodastream adapters look similar to other SS adapters for full size regulators on the market but they are a different thread. If you want to use a Sodastream cylinder with our mini regulators you will need one of our Sodastream adapters which we have had made specifically for these mini regs.

**We do have Full size reg Sodastream adapters if you want them. Select from the list to the side.

**If you want to use the 74g version of this adapter you will need a spare larger chrome plated adapter which needs to be switched onto the reg in order to use the 74g Sodastream adapter. Let us know if you need one of these.

A 30L Soda Stream bottle holds the equivalent of 17 x 16g disposable cartridges and can be swapped for a full one for about $11-$15 from your nearest supermarket or retailer (see this map for your closest exchange location)

These are much more cost effective than 16g canisters while still being portable and small enough to fit in the fridge if you are force carbonating.

As you can see in the pictures, by using either a stainless steel disconnect with a 19L corny keg or a plastic disconnect with the 4L keg you still have a compact solution.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
THIS ADAPTER PRESSES THE GAS RELEASE VALVE ON THE SODA STREAM BOTTLE OR PAINTBALL TANK.

MAKE SURE THE REGULATOR IS IN THE OFF POSITION BEFORE ATTACHING A GAS SUPPLY

MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE ADAPTER ONTO THE REGULATOR THEN SCREW IN THE SODA STREAM BOTTLE.

The adapter comes pre-set - you should not have to adjust the set screw, however If no gas is releasing when connected you can use a correct sized Hex/Allen Key to screw the adapters set screw out further and test again.

Assembly Instructions & Use:

  • All threads here are Lefty Loosey, Righty Tighty (they are not reverse threads).
  • 74g adapter only: First - change the regulator inlet. Use the correct sized spanner or wrench to remove the existing gas inlet/fitting on the bottom of the regulator. Incorrect sizes tools can damage the brass fitting. It will be on tight so you will need to securely hold the regulator without damaging it.
  • 74g adapter only: Once removed, replace and tighten well with the additional chrome plated fitting that was included with the Pro Regulator. (It looks similar to the one you have just removed but with a larger diameter interior thread) Make sure the rubber gasket is intact.
  • You can now screw in your brass Sodastream adapter - tight but not too tight.
  • NOTE - Do not attach the adapter to the sodastream bottle first. This will allow the CO2 to escape.
  • A sodastream bottle or paintball cylinder can then be screwed into the regulator. MAKE SURE THE REGULATOR IS IN THE OFF POSITION WHEN ATTACHING!
  • When screwing in, the adapter will press the release valve on the sodastream bottle. Keep on screwing if you hear a hiss until it stops and. Be wary of any CO2 that may escape as it can be freezing to the touch - wear gloves to be safe.
  • If there is a lot of gas escaping when screwing the gas tank in then the set screw may be screwed in too far. Unscrew the gas and then remove the sodastream adapter from the reg and back off the set screw in the sodastream adapter a half or quarter turn then try again.
  • The adapter should only press the gas release valve on the cylinder once nearly fully screwed in. You can test this by attaching the adapter to the cylinder by itself (without being attached to the regulator) and see when gas starts being released.
  • The adapter comes pre-set - you should not have to adjust the set screw, however If no gas is releasing when connected you can use a correct sized Hex/Allen Key to screw the adapters set screw out further and test again.
  • When using once connected to a gas supply, spray some soapy water around the connections to check for any gas leakage. If there is, tighten the fittings and check again. A light cover of thread tape can be used on threads if needed.
  • NOTE - Make sure your system is complete before turning the pressure up on the reg - IE: Never turn our mini regs on with just a disconnect attached to it - always make sure the disconnect is attached to a keg or system before turning on.
  • Once the bottle is attached to the regulator and the gas outlet is connected to a keg, slowly turn the knob of the reg to achieve the pressure you desire.
  • If you turn the pressure up higher than wanted you will need to turn down the reg and purge the keg it is attached to to lower the pressure reading on the reg.

  • Hi there, when fitting the 16g adapter to the mini regulator, does it need an o-ring? A white plastic ring came with the mini reg. Thanks, Paul.S.

    Hi Paul -
Thanks for the message.  No additional orings or gaskets need to be added.  Just screw the gas canisters stright in. There are two spare gaskets included in the box. The small white one is for the side outlet of the reg.  The larger clear gasket is for where the gas canisters screw in if that ever needs replacing.
    Cheers - Andrew.

  • Would the Full Size Regulator Adapter allow the use of a standard Type 30 CO2 bottle to fill a 60L sodastream bottle?

    Hi Evan,
That's Not quite the right adapter for what you want.
We do sell a Sodastream fill station however which sounds like exacally what you are after. There is the link to it : https://www.ikegger.co.nz/products/sodastream-delux-filling-station?_pos=1&_sid=74357163b&_ss=r

  • Does this adapter work with the 30L and 60L soda stream c02 bottles or just the 30?

Hi Tim - It works for both.

It has an adjsutable pin inside it in case you do need to make fine adjustments.
    Cheers.

  • Hi there, do you guys have replacement o-rings for those? Cheers

Yes we do - They are $3 each
    They are avaliable here:
    https://www.ikegger.co.nz/products/replacement-o-ring-for-sodastream-adapter

    Cheers

  • Is it safe to unscrew/remove a sodastream bottle still with gas in it? It feels really tight now - I just hand-tightened it on, but to get it off I'd need to use a wrench. It's probably not ideal leaving the regulator on the bottle pressurised for a long time...

Yes that is fine. Use two wrenches, one wrench to hold the brass Sodastream adapter and one wrench to unscrew the cylinder from the adapter. There will be a small hiss of gas that escapes when unscrewing which is normal. The Sodastream bottle seales itself so all good there.
    Cheers.

  • Do you have regulators that take 1/2" UNF. I have a supply of co2 canisters that have this thread.

    Hi Justin -
Unfortunatly not sorry  - we only have 3/8 and 5/8
If you want we can check the avalibility of an adapter for you. Send us your details to info@ikegger.co.nz if you would like us to look into that for you.
    Cheers.

  • Hi, The description says this adapter is specific to your mini regulators. Would i be correct in assuming that it should work with any regulator that accepts the same 16g CO2 bulbs? i picked up a 5L IKEGGER mini keg with the taps etc from my local homebrew store, very similar to your brewers kit package (wish i had seen yours before buying). Anyway the mini regulator that i got looks a little different (mine is probably cheap / lower quality, w no option for type 30) It still accepts the same CO2 bulbs. any reason it wouldn't work? Thanks

    Hi Ross -
Yes - if your mini reg takes 16g co2 bulbs this this will fit (c:
Have fun with the mini keg - they are pretty dam handy!
    Cheers.
